Seiko Seiki SS811PB Compressor Information Request

bearing01 on Wed June 18, 2008 7:21 PM User is offline

Does anyone have any info or know anything about the Seiko-Seiki SS811PB C1811MBO compressor? It also has R12 written on the label as well. I got one from an engine I pulled from a 1984 BMW 528e. I'm pretty sure those cars used the Bosch-Behr compressor so I'm not sure why this car had the Seiki.

Does anyone know what type of seals are in this compressor? If they are R134a compliant? In the late 80's BMW started using a Seiki compressor as part of a transition to making their R12 systems have seals compatible with R134a. I would like to know if I can use this compressor in a retrofit.

BMW used both the Bosh and the Seiko, they are R12 compressors, so ya takes your chances.. My experience is they are not good retro candidates..But might work for you..?? Hope this helps..
