BMW Fan Clutch for Cooling AC

Year: 2001
Make: BMW
Model: Z3
Engine Size: 2.5
Refrigerant Type: 134a
Ambient Temp: 115
Pressure Low: 48
Pressure High: 275
Country of Origin: United States

Greetings!

At a 115 to 120-F ambient temp on a nice summer day in Palm Springs the AC does not cool as much as it should when the car is stopped. Once we are moving along the car works fine. The low side and high side pressures are constant... i have been checking them for about a month and I have not seen them change significantly, thus I don't believe I have a leak. Can it be that I need a new fan clutch?

Thanks!

Does the fan clutch spin freely when warm?
