Where is the Orfice Tube

mgmoore7 on Tue June 03, 2008 4:04 PM User is offline

Year: 1998
Make: Isuzu
Model: Hombre
Engine Size: 2.2
Country of Origin: United States

Also known as a Chevy S10.

Can anyone point me to the orphice tube. I am about to order parts from here but I want to check the orfice tube 1st and see if it is dirty and then proceed from there in regard to what components need to be changed. I know there is a leak in the compressor.

It's going to be in the line from the condenser to the evaporator. GM put some near the evaporator and some near the condenser. Look at each tube coupling. The OT is held in by 3 dents in the side of the line about 2 inches downstream from a coupling. Disconnect the coupling and you should see the plastic end of the tube assembly. Grab it with pliers and pull it out.
