Had to open my system -- how to put back together?

Year: 2001
Make: Mazda
Model: Miata
Engine Size: 1.8

Am refurbishing my '01 Miata (15k original miles but too much rust on bottom of car).

Had to remove a/c condenser, a/c compressor and some a/c tubing from engine compartment as I was doing some media blasting to sheet metal on car and needed the access. A/C system was working just fine before work began. All open ends were sealed well with tape immediately -- keeping out any debris but no doubt exposing system to ambient humidity as system open for a number of months. Also, I guesstimate that I lost about 1/2 oz of oil from system.

What should I do to get system hooked up and working again? Should all oil be drained from system (how is that done?) and new oil added? Should receiver/dryer be replaced (new desiccant)? Does system need to be flushed or just purged?

My feeling is that I should buy a new receiver/drier and install along with connecting all "plumbing", then take car to professionals to purge, make sure it holds vacuum, refill with correct oil and recharge. Is this correct course of action? If I reconnect everything, do I need any type of thread sealant or lube for O rings?

Thanks for any help -- I'm out of my depth on this one.

I would suggest an oil and drier change. Then follow the proper evacuate and charging procedures. New o-rings with Nylog would not hurt either.
