Sanden conversion for old Suburban

Still Sweatin on Mon May 19, 2008 8:38 PM User is offline

Year: 1991
Make: Chevy
Model: Suburban
Engine Size: 350
Refrigerant Type: 134

Just a general question. I would like to swap the R-4 for a Sanden, I have been told the SD508 is pretty straight forward but I have a spare SD510 with the fittings on the rear. Anyone have an opinion on the differences and what I should be aware of?
Thanks in advance.

Should not be any serious issues. Might have some hose routing issues with the rear port setup. But I doubt that will be much of an issue. In the past when we have used a CPI compressor mount. There have been some differences in spacers and such. The CPI mount is designed for the Seltec or Sanden if the vehicle never had a/c. So with the vehicle having an R4 setup things can be a little different. We do supply this compressor mount if needed.
