A few years ago I had to replace the compressor, dryer, orifice tube so I took the opportunity to convert to R-134. All has been good except for poor cooling at stoplights when temp are over 90. First problem (due to CRS), is I can't remember where the orifice tube is located. I plan on having the system flushed & charged at a local shop, so with new comp & dryer, how much oil does the system need? HELP!!! it's supposed to go to 100 this weekend in Phoenix!
System oil capacity is 7 ounces, the O tube is located in the fitting just below the high side port, going down and along side the accumulator into the evap..Hope this helps..
I have a pic home, but it's between the high side port and lower evap hose, should be one fitting..Might go in the bottom of the evap, can't remember offhand... Just remember between the high side port and evap and you should see it..

poor cooling when vehicle is not moving can be a sign of a weak fan clutch if it has never been replaced may want to look at it.also suggested to use original delco replacement.
I did the same R134 conversion on my '93 Jimmy and it never cooled well at triffic stops when the outside temp got over 100*, and thats with electric fans that cooled better than the mechanical fan. Id suggest going back to R12 especially since you live in Az and R12 prices have dropped. I converted back last month.
