Hi Guys new guy here,
I have a 86 El camino with the 305. The air cycles on and off. I have a single pressure guage hooked up to the blue connection. It shows normal when it cycles off, but drops to low when it cycles on. The cycle period is about 5 seconds off and on. Tryig to add more refrigerant doent seem to help. What am I missing.
Thanks
Steve

You need both low and high side readings. So a proper gauge set is going to be needed. Knowing the amount of refrigerant & oil in the system is also some great data to provide the readers.

Depends on how in depth you want to get in servicing your system? The DIY Starter Kit is a good step in the right direction.

You don't have to buy the kit to get help around here. But the items in the kit will help you determine what going on and how to repair it correctly.
