Do these air driven vacuum pumps really work

My buddy has one and said how well it works. I am just leary because I don't know what sealers or anything that might have been pumped through it.

dont waste your money unless you have one hell of an air compressor to power that thing. I have played with one of those, and at 110psi constant pressure was only able to pull a vacuum down to 18". So basically you're not getting the needed vacuum to remove the moisture. im not too sure where they get the 29" from.

I looked at that one too and decided it would be a complete waste of $17. It just won't do the job.
