93 DOHC motor in 87 Fiero which compressor

Year: 1987
Make: Pontiac
Model: Fiero
Engine Size: 3.4 DOHC
Refrigerant Type: R134

I installed a Lumina Z34 3.4 DOHC motor in my 1987 Fiero.
The Z34 uses one transducer on the high side to control the compressor cycle. The Fiero compressor uses two switches on the compressor to control the cycle. I wired the A/C up to use the original compressor and the system worked well for about six months before the large oring on the case started leaking. I now want to purchase a new compressor.

There is a hundred dollar difference between the Fiero compressor and the Lumina compressor. They both will bolt up fine and I believe they are both V5 compressors.

My questions are: why the price difference, and if I re-wire the A/C system to use the transducer can I use the lumina compressor.

what am I missing in my logic?
Thanks
James
