where to buy

Year: 1986
Make: Chevrolet
Model: S10
Engine Size: 2.8l
Country of Origin: Norway

Hi,
I'm wondering, where, or maybe how to buy a complete a/c system for this old Chevy S10, it has no factory a/c. A few weeks ago, I ordered from ACKITS, but since my creditcard is issued in Norway, they were not able to accept my order. My shipping address is Linden, New Jersey.

Do you know other vendors of such kits for this truck?

Thanks

Seems that since the shipment is only going to NJ that is not the issue. Your non-US credit card is. Go to your bank, get a cash avance on your card. Get an American Express money order for the purchase cost (available everywhere) and send the mo to AMA. This should work. But is the truck really in Norway, or in Linden?

Also important to be sure the design of this truck is the same as the US model. Many exports are not the same as the US models and our systems are designed for the US model.

We do not do international shipping thus the reason the card was rejected.

Probably shouldn't get involved with this, but sounds more like a payment problem, used either my Master Card or Visa card in foreign countries with no problem as long as it is a world wide card, but had to contact my credit card company first so they would approve payment. Also bank transfers can be done, moving the buck around the world has never been a problem, or the funds can be wired, sure Tim can work something out. Exporting goods to certain countries is definitely a problem, was involved with that, countless forms, tariffs, waterproof packing, etc., etc., etc. But shipping from AZ to NJ is not a problem.

Can recall back in the early 60's several domestic vehicle manufacturers were offering AC kits, were extremely expensive and highly labor intensive so they quit doing that. Believe also the Japanese quit doing that to, but had limited popularity in the 80's, was much cheaper to find a vehicle with AC. Also believe, and will stand corrected, today, practically all new vehicles come standard with AC. Tim has a unique service.

Just put it this way Nick. Recently we made an exception and shipped some stuff to Canada for one of our forum members. Our vendor listed the wrong item and so we had to make an exchange to get the issue squared away. This was not a problem anyone created just a application error. Short story is we ended up paying $ 250.00 in freight to get the replacement item into Canada. Plus $ 30.00 on a return tag for the incorrect item. Needless to say we lost all profit on this sale and then sum. This why we don't ship outside the US. It is just extremely expensive to ship out side the US with customs and freight companies.

Then there is the ones that want you to make up fake invoices to avoid paying their NAFTA taxes. Besides just being wrong who would be in trouble if the government found out you were doing something like that? I just don't like being asked to do those kinds of things! Would just rather stop selling to someone which I have done in the past.

s108 never came back, did comment that exporting goods especially to European countries is a PITA, but he says shipping to NJ, is Chick living in a foreign country? Wondered about that, he must have a friend there, and if he does, payment shouldn't be a problem. So what is the problem?

I spoke with him personally and we have things worked out. As far as payment, we don't except international credit cards.

Yes, my problem is solved. I really appreciate the help I got here. Tim had the solution. Thanks to all.
I'll probably be back in a few weeks for maybe technical questions.
