I replaced the receiver dryer on this system but the replacement dryer is larger than the original. My question is how can you tell if the system is fully charged? There is no site glass on the dryer and the capacity I assume will change because the dryer is larger than the original. I just charged the system by weight and added about 4 oz.
Is there anyway to tell by pressure readings alone?
What is the ambient and the low and high side pressures. You still using R12 refrigerant? My opinion you would need a drier about twice the size of the original to need that much extra refrigerant.
Does the car have a sight glass somewhere in the system?
