Where's the Low Side Service Valve?

SMAir on Wed August 29, 2007 8:51 AM User is offline

Year: 2002
Make: Chevrolet
Model: Suburban
Engine Size: 5.3L
Refrigerant Type: R134a

I just bought a 2002 Suburban and had a tour under the hood last night. I couldn't find the low side service valve. Even more puzzling, it looks like it has two high side valves about 6" apart on the same line.

Where is this elusive low side service valve?

Thanks.

Tom

Those are the two valves, high and low. The one toward the evaporator is the low. Look closely and you'll see it is smaller. The orifice tube is inbetween those two valves.

OK. That makes sense. It also makes it very easy to connect the gauges. I'll take both caps off tonight and look closely.
