bubbles in vacuum pump oil sight glass

When I pull a vacuum with my vacuum pump I get bubbles in the vacuum pump oil sight glass what causes this and is this normal?

What brand is it, how old is it, is it often "wet" like it's leaking? Could be sucking air in through seams of the pump unit???
